About STOCK CAR CLASSICS
The STOCK CAR CLASSICS story begins with an eye doctor named Brinkley Whiteside, or “Doc”, to his patients and friends. Doc’s father took him to races when he was a boy, and he was enamored with the cars and stars of the NASCAR circuit.
In 2021, he and some friends got together and decided to form a group to celebrate their shared bond for not just buying and restoring but taking laps in their former chariots of the NASCAR stars. Doc set up a Facebook page, and a year later had over 9000 followers and a subgroup of 15-20 Southeast-based car owners.
This distinguished group of gentlemen has had the incredible blessing of being able to take laps at some of the most famous NASCAR tracks, including Rockingham Speedway and Darlington Speedway, as well as southeast short track Dillon Motor Speedway.
Perhaps their most triumphant occasion to-date was their appearance at North Wilkesboro Speedway on the final night of “Racetrack Revival”, providing a proverbial halftime act before Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and the CARS Tour took the stage and rocked the 20,000 spectators with a couple of hours of wheel-to-wheel action.
How will they top that billing in 2023?
1- They are the main attraction at Rockingham Speedway’s 2nd Annual Open House on March 4.
2- They will also be joining HSR at Road Atlanta for the infamous “Mitty” event for vintage race cars in late April.
3- Then they will provide a little reality to Darlington’s “Throwback Weekend” May as they join the current NASCAR cars and stars at the “Track Too Tough To Tame”.
